2013 Annual Alumni Luncheon
The annual luncheon was held on October 19 at Coppola’s Bistro on Route 9 in Hyde Park, NY. Dinner was enjoyed by all and included choices of Chicken ala Franchese, Boston Baked Cod Filet and Eggplant Parmigiana. An update was presented by Magie Kidder, Alumni President of the annual scholarship presentation and the current status of the HRSH museum in Poughkeepsie.
Honorees celebrating anniversary milestones included those having graduated 40, 45 , 50, and 65 years ago from the program. They were presented with flowers and a token of recognition. Graduates of the school who have passed away during the last year were also recognized in memoriam.
Door prizes were awarded and raffle prizes were drawn. A tour of the museum was provided following the luncheon.
An enjoyable time of reminiscing and catching up was had by all.

After completion of the committee meeting portion of the evening, during which the previous meeting minutes were reviewed and accepted, committee heads gave reports. It was decided that a newsletter be compiled and will be sent out to members. Further review of the newsletter information will be discussed at the next meeting in August.
Members and guests enjoyed a variety of tasty food including numerous yummy desserts. Conversation was humming and allowed for everyone to catch up on each others lives.
Following dinner, the silent auction, fifty-fifty raffle and a special prize raffle were held. Competition for prizes was lively, with the proceeds going back into the association with part of the profit to benefit the scholarship fund.
Thank you to all who contributed the delicious food and fun prizes, helping to make the event a fun-filled evening!
October 2013 Annual HRSH Alumni Association luncheon
The annual HRSH Alumni Association luncheon was held at Coppola’s in Hyde Park, NY on October 20, 2012. The honorees included 6 graduates from the class of 1972 for 40 years, 3 from 1967 for 45 years, 3 from 1962 for 50 years, and 2 graduates from the class of 1952 who were celebrating 60 years since graduation. Dottie Hoff, a 1939 graduate (yes, 1939!) was the winner of the $105 50/50 auction.
A brief history of the closing of the lower campus, and the consolidation of the upper campus was presented, as was the present status of the museum. The HRSH museum is currently being moved into one of the former staff houses on Cheney Drive. A lot of effort has gone into the set-up, and there will be one room dedicated to the nursing school. As there are still many artifacts to be catalogued and placed, the rededication date has not been confirmed yet. It was a very enjoyable luncheon including the making of new friends, reconnecting with old friends, and reminiscing about life at HRSH School of Nursing.
